Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 25, 2026
Piggy is an allowance app for families. This policy explains what we collect, where it lives, and what choices you have. We tried to keep it short and in plain English. If anything's unclear, email privacy@arivya.ai.
1. Who runs Piggy
Piggy is built and operated by arivya, an independent technology company. You can reach the team at support@arivya.ai or visit arivya.ai.
2. What Piggy collects
From the parent
- Nickname (what your kid calls you, like "Dad" or "Mama".). Used in greetings inside the app.
- Email address via Google or Apple Sign-In, only if you turn on Family Plan. Used to identify you to Piggy's cloud so we can sync across your phones.
From the kid
- First name and optional birthday. Used for personalization and to credit the birthday bonus.
- Avatar emoji the kid picks.
- Chore completions, balances, goals, and transaction history you and the kid create inside the app.
Piggy does not collect: phone contacts, photos, location, browsing history, microphone or camera data, advertising IDs, or any other device identifiers beyond what's needed to deliver push notifications.
3. Where the data lives
Standalone mode (the free plan)
Everything stays on the phone, in an app-private SQLite database. Nothing is sent to our servers. If you delete the app, the data is gone.
Family Plan
When you turn on Family Plan, your family's data is also stored in our encrypted cloud (Amazon Web Services, US region). This is what lets two parents see the same chores and balances. We use AWS Cognito for sign-in and AWS DynamoDB (encryption at rest) for the family data.
4. What we don't do
- We don't sell your data. Not to ad networks, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
- We don't show ads inside Piggy. The Family Plan subscription is the only revenue.
- We don't share data with third parties for marketing.
- We don't profile or track users across other apps.
5. Children's privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K)
Piggy is designed for parents to use with their kids. We treat data about kids as data about your family, controlled by you as the parent. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 (United States) or 16 (EU) without verifiable parental consent. That That consent is gathered during onboarding before any kid data is entered.
You can delete your kid's data anytime from inside the app (Settings โ Kids โ Delete) or by deleting your whole account (Settings โ Danger Zone โ Delete account and family data).
6. Service providers we use
- Amazon Web Services: Cognito for sign-in, DynamoDB for cloud storage, CloudFront for content delivery, SNS for push notification routing. US region.
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging: Android push notifications.
- Apple Push Notification service: iOS push notifications (when enabled).
Each provider only sees the data needed for its function. None of them are used for marketing.
7. Your rights
You can, at any time:
- See your data by browsing through the app. There's no hidden data we hold that isn't visible to you.
- Export it by contacting support (we'll mail you a JSON dump within 30 days).
- Delete it using Settings โ Danger Zone โ Delete account and family data, or by visiting our delete-your-account page.
- Correct it by editing within the app. Every field is editable.
8. Data retention
In Standalone mode there's nothing for us to retain. Your data lives on your device only. In Family Plan, we retain data as long as your family is active. When you delete your account, all data tied to that family is removed from our systems within 30 days.
9. Security
Cloud data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS / TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AWS-managed encryption). On-device data is stored in the app's private sandbox, accessible only to Piggy. We don't keep your sign-in password. Google and Apple handle authentication. No system is unbreakable; if we ever detect a breach we'll notify you as required by law and as quickly as we can confirm what happened.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a material way (new data collected, new sharing), we'll update the date at the top and notify you in-app on next launch. Minor wording clarifications won't trigger a notification.
