Common questions

Does Piggy hold real money?

No. Piggy is an educational tracker. The "balances" inside the app reflect agreements between you and your kid about money you control. We don't transfer, hold, or invest funds.

What ages is Piggy for?

We've designed it for kids roughly ages 5 through 15. Younger kids will lean on you to use it; older kids can install Piggy on their own phone (Family Plan) and manage their goals more independently.

What's the difference between Standalone and Family Plan?

Standalone is free and keeps everything on one phone. Family Plan ($12/year after a 14-day free trial) syncs your family across multiple phones. Both parents can approve chores, and kids with their own phones can see their balance and request payouts. You can upgrade from Standalone to Family Plan anytime.

What happens if I cancel Family Plan?

Your data stays in read-only mode in our cloud for 90 days so you can resubscribe without losing anything. Your phone's local copy is kept intact regardless. After 90 days the cloud copy is deleted.

How do I delete my account?

See our delete account page. From inside the app: Settings → Advanced · Danger zone → Delete account and family data.

Why does Piggy ask for my kid's birthday?

Two reasons: (1) it credits the kid's "Birthday box" bucket automatically each year, and (2) the chore difficulty and currency formatting tune themselves based on age tier. The birthday is optional. Skip it if you'd rather.

Where is my data stored?

Standalone: on your phone, in an app-private SQLite database. Family Plan: also on Amazon Web Services in the United States (encrypted at rest, TLS in transit). Full details in our Privacy Policy.

Is Piggy COPPA / GDPR compliant?

Yes. We treat data about kids as data about your family, controlled by you as the parent. We gather verifiable parental consent during onboarding before any kid data is entered. See section 5 of our Privacy Policy.

I found a bug.

Email support@arivya.ai with: what you tapped, what you expected, and what actually happened. A screenshot helps a lot. We genuinely appreciate bug reports. They make Piggy better for everyone.
